Power Button iPhone 4S

The Power Button iPhone 4S is the external metal button on the top edge of the phone. It turns the iPhone on and off, locks and wakes the screen and, together with the Home button, performs a force restart or takes a screenshot.

It should be replaced when the button is bent, dented, sunk into the housing, loose and wobbly, no longer gives its usual click, or has been lost after a drop.

Installation note

This part is the external button only: if the button is intact but the phone does not respond when pressed, the fault is most likely in the top flex cable carrying the power switch and the light and proximity sensors, which must be replaced separately. During fitting make sure the button is properly aligned with the flex contact, and test power and screen lock before full reassembly.
