Flex Cable Volume and Mute for iPhone 5C

The Flex Cable Volume and Mute for Apple iPhone 5C is the flexible circuit running along the inner edge of the housing that connects the volume buttons, the mute switch and the power button to the logic board. The same flex also carries the rear LED flash and the rear microphone.

Replacement is needed when the volume buttons do not respond or work intermittently, when the silent switch does not change mode, when the power button no longer clicks or when the flash and rear microphone stop working after a drop or liquid contact.

Installation note

The flex is glued to the housing and runs under the logic board: warm it slightly and lift it with a plastic spudger without bending it. Carefully transfer the metal brackets of the buttons and power button, and test volume, mute and flash before closing the phone.
