Description
The Audio Codec Chip IC 338S00105 for iPhone SE/6s/6s Plus/7/7 Plus is the integrated circuit that converts and processes the audio signal on the logic board: microphones, loudspeaker, earpiece and recording all run through this chip.
It needs replacing when the iPhone shows a greyed-out speaker button during calls, voice memos that will not record, a caller who cannot hear you, no sound at all, or a very slow boot with the Apple logo staying on screen for a long time: these are the typical symptoms of a damaged audio IC or one that has lifted from the board.
Main features
- Type: Audio Codec integrated circuit, part 338S00105
- Function: handles microphones, loudspeaker, earpiece and system audio
- Mounting: BGA soldering on the logic board (micro-soldering)
- Quality: compatible component, not original Apple
- Quality control: QC Passed

Installation note
Warning: the chip must be BGA-soldered onto the logic board using a hot air station and preheater. Before fitting it, check the condition of the pads under the component: on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus the fault is often caused by board flex and one or more broken pads, which must be restored with jumper wires before soldering the new IC. For qualified technicians only.
