Description
The SuperDrive CD Optical Drive Flex Cable for MacBook 13" A1342 connects the CD/DVD burner of the white Unibody MacBook to the logic board. It is the part to fit when the drive is no longer recognised, won't read discs or ejects them right after they are inserted.
Main features
- Part number: 922-8622.
- Condition: used, tested.
- Connection: connector on the logic board and connector on the optical drive.
SuperDrive Flex Cable for MacBook A1342
The flex cable runs inside the MacBook between the optical drive and the logic board and carries both data and power to the SuperDrive. When it gets damaged, the burner disappears from System Information or spins without reading anything. Before ordering, check the part number on the page of the CD flex cable for MacBook A1342.
Replacement CD/DVD Drive Cable for MacBook 13" Unibody
Quite often the fault is not in the burner but in the cable itself, which bends or oxidises on the contacts over time. Replacing it is an inexpensive fix worth trying before changing the whole optical drive. Discover all the details of this part.
Compatibility
- MacBook 13" Unibody A1342, Late 2009 (MC207).
- MacBook 13" Unibody A1342, Mid 2010 (MC516).

Installation note
No soldering is needed: the cable plugs into the connector on the logic board and the one on the optical drive. Disconnect the battery before opening the MacBook, release the connectors with a plastic tool and avoid folding the flex sharply. If you have no experience, have the job done by a technician.
