Operation of Universal Memory Exchanger
Cellebrite UME is used as a channel or intermediary for transferring data from a source phone to a destination phone and does not store any data records in the UME unit itself.
UME requires the user to select and define a set of parameters for the transfer procedure, which involves identifying the brand and model of the source and destination phones, the memory from which the contents will be copied and to which they will be sent (phone memory, SIM card), and the available connection options, such as cable or IrDA. Once the parameters are defined, UME displays the number of cables that need to be connected to the cell phones or the IR connection. Then, by pressing a button, the data is transferred from the source phone to the destination phone, through UME.
If necessary, UME automatically adjusts the format and data fields to make them compatible with the destination phone.
