It needs replacing when the iPhone does not charge or charges intermittently, the cable will not stay in, headphones are not recognised or there is no sound, the bottom microphone does not work (callers cannot hear you), or the port is bent, dirty or damaged.

Installation note

Warning: always disconnect the battery before starting. During fitting, take care with the press-fit connectors and the antenna cable, which is easily damaged, and carefully transfer the gaskets, screws and brackets from the original flex. After replacement, test charging, headphone audio and the microphone before closing the phone.
