Description
The LCD LVDS Flex Cable for MacBook 13" A1342 carries the video signal from the logic board to the LCD panel of the white Unibody MacBook. It is the part to fit when the screen stays black while the Mac is on, the picture flickers, lines appear or the fault changes as you move the screen.
Main features
- Type: LVDS flex cable for the LCD video signal.
- Condition: removed from a new device, tested.
- Connection: connectors at both ends, no soldering.
LCD LVDS Flex Cable for MacBook A1342
The LVDS cable starts at the logic board, runs through the hinge area and reaches the back of the LCD panel. Opening and closing the lid over and over can wear it out: the typical symptom is a picture that comes and goes depending on the angle of the display. If the Mac works on an external monitor but not on its own screen, the LVDS cable for MacBook A1342 is one of the first parts to check.
Replacement LCD Video Cable for MacBook 13" Unibody
Replacing the cable fixes picture faults caused by broken contacts, without changing the whole display. Before ordering, it is worth ruling out a faulty LCD panel or logic board. Discover all the details of this part.
Compatibility
- MacBook 13" Unibody A1342, Late 2009 (MC207).
- MacBook 13" Unibody A1342, Mid 2010 (MC516).

Installation note
No soldering is needed: the cable plugs into the logic board and the LCD panel with its connectors. To reach the display end you have to remove the screen bezel; route the cable along its path through the hinge without sharp bends or pinching. Disconnect the battery before opening the MacBook and, if you have no experience, have the job done by a technician.
